May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Gentle Yoga on Friday mornings will journey through a different theme each week for the month of May, taking inspiration from movement, breath, chinese medicine, acupressure and meditation to bring about mind-body balance.

Week 1: Freeing the weight of the world BOOK HERE

A shoulder centred class for those of us who bear the weight of the world on our shoulders.

Week 2: Calm breath, calm mind BOOK HERE

Breath reflects the mind and in this class, breath leads the way through gentle movement and into a state of calm.

Week 3: Smoothen and soothe BOOK HERE

A TCM inspired class exploring channels and acupressure points related to encouraging a smooth flow of energy to lift moods.

Week 4: Grounding the spirit BOOK HERE

A TCM inspired class exploring channels and acupressure points to help ground and calm one’s spirit.

Week 5: Loving Kindness BOOK HERE

A heart centered practice that finishes with loving kindness meditation for the self and others.

About The Teacher

Catherine Tan

Catherine embarked on the journey of teaching yoga after her first training in Hot and Hatha Yoga in 2009. In a bid to serve her students better, she has since gone on to study Yin Yoga, Pre Natal Yoga and Vinyasa Yoga and diversified into traditional Chinese Medicine.

Her belief in lifelong learning and keen interest in the  study of anatomy and fascia, traditional Chinese medicine, qigong healing and yoga philosophy have motivated her to pursue such knowledge rigorously through self-study and workshops with many teachers. She also graduated top in class from a 2-year programme at the Singapore College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
