From time to time, Kate Porter Yoga organises a Kids Yoga class or a Parent-Child Yoga class, usually on weekends. Doing yoga with kids or having children engaged in yoga is a good way to cultivate awareness, patience and increase confidence in your child.
Children have fun while stretching, breathing and creating shapes with their bodies. Research has shown that children exposed to yoga at an early age can help them to better cope with stress and anxiety later in life. It also gives them a good foundation to build on for better self awareness and compassion in an activity that is non-competitive, thereby cultivating an appreciation for the non-material in life.
Yoga teachers need additional training and special qualification to teach yoga to children. Classes have limited spots to ensure that all children are looked after properly. Kindly arrive 10 minutes earlier to complete the safety check-in procedures.
