Hazel’s teaching is down-to-earth and grounded in building a strong foundation through alignment, rhythm and breath. She brings a sense of lightheartedness to the mat and is able to skilfully breakdown challenging postures and transitions in a safe, mindful and accessible manner. She balances consistency and variety in her sequencing leading her students to deepen their practice in an encouraging, non judgemental and supportive environment. She encourages her students to approach the practice with a good sense of humour, an adventurous, yet compassionate spirit.
She completed her first 200 hours of study with Bharat Shetty at Indea Yoga in Mysore, India. She later completed her 500 hours training with Jason Crandell. She remains dedicated to her practice, continues to immerse herself in the study of Yoga and finds joy in sharing the wisdom her teachers has passed on to her. She hopes that her students leave their mats with a stronger appreciation of their bodies, a lighter heart and mind, an understanding that their yoga practice is a life long journey and something they continue to carry with them off the mat beyond physical asanas.
In her free time, she is mostly found by her kitchen window, sipping coffee and reading a good book. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends, sharing good food and an ice-cold pint of beer.
