Suitable for everyone, especially for beginners, this workshop will be unique for those wanting to explore basic arm balances and inversions in a safe and comfortable place.

In a step-by-step manner, you will learn the correct alignment, preparation and techniques for developing the confidence to arrive into the postures and enjoy their benefits regardless of your level of practice, as Aleks will explore variations for all individuals.  You will understand the position beyond the physical form, feel lightness, and how to maintain and gradually increase the time you can stay in it safely, confidently with grace and ease.

  • Skilfully learning the use of props to support the form
  • Arm Balance and Inversions break down and alignment
  • The Importance of Drishtis (focused gaze)
  • Arm Balance techniques with use of props
  • Learn some different types of Arm Balances
  • Some of the poses you will learn: Crow, Headstand A, Headstand B, Forearm balance & shoulder-stand. 

Reflect 

This time will be used to bring the mind internally so that all disturbances and distractions can be left aside. 

Restore with mantra / yoga Nidra

We will prepare the body to settle after our rejuvenating practice and reflective time. Our actions don’t just become a way to accomplish something externally, they become a mirror in which we can learn to see ourselves more deeply, internally.

About The Teacher

Aleks I.

A yoga teacher, yoga therapist and meditation teacher of almost 20 years, Aleks upholds traditional values and contemporary insights of yoga to help her students reach their full potential.

Certified by the Australian Institute of Yoga Therapy, she specialises in yoga for mental health, addiction, back pain, cancer and chronic illnesses.

Her teaching styles are varied from beginners to advanced practitioners, strong styles to stretching and recovering. Regardless of the class type, the one thread that runs through all her teachings are breath and mindfulness focus throughout the session.
