Karen Tan has been a dedicated Yoga practitioner since 2003 and believes happiness in life comes when all elements are in a state of balance.

She embarked on her yoga instructor trainings since 2011. On top of her practice and training based on traditional Hatha Yoga, she also attended Ashtanga Yoga trainings with Chuck Miller and David Swenson, and many other experienced teachers over the years. With a keen interest in biomechanics and science, she continuously supplement her knowledge in different modalities. She gained her Specialist Diploma in Sports and Exercise Science in 2015 and is also a trained STOTT Pilates Mat instructor. She has a keen interest in core mobility and functionality and teaches flow yoga, Hatha yoga, Pre & post natal yoga, yin, stretch classes and Pilates matwork.

Karen’s teaching style pays attention to alignment not only on the physical form, but also aims to facilitate students in cultivating equilibrium in their minds and bodies. Most importantly, her classes are aimed to make yoga accessible to everyone, creating a platform to allow students to experience the positive changes that yoga can bring to them. Off the mat, Karen is an avid runner of almost two decades and loves being in the outdoors with her family.

Karen will be teaching core-focused classes at KPY.
