Laura began yoga in January 2000 as a way to alleviate stress from a strenuous science-based degree program. Over the years her practice evolved into a companion that saw her through times of both joy and great personal challenge, including multiple country relocations and two pregnancies.

In 2009, she took the plunge and completed a 200-hour teacher training at the Yandara Yoga Institute in Baja California. Since then she has taught in the US, the UK and Singapore.

Over the years, she has studied Hatha asana with Christina Sell, Shiva Rea, Donna Farhi, Susi Aldous Hately and Tara Judelle, Prenatal yoga with Ana Davis and Rosie Matheson, Kundalini yoga with Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa, Yoga Nidra with Richard Miller, Thai body work with Felicity Keebaugh, Kids Yoga with Laura Egan and many more.

In 2018, she graduated with a master’s degree in science communication from a joint programme between the National University of Singapore and Australian National University. In this programme, she united her two interests in science and yoga through her thesis, Bringing Science into Everyday Yoga, a study on student receptivity and perceptions of science in the wellness sphere. The thesis included an original experiment and 72 study participants.

Her science and engineering background helps her understand the profound mechanical components of the body. Meditation and somatics have taught her that not everything needs to be defined.

Her classes are always tailored to individual and group needs with a focus on physical asana, philosophy and breathwork. Join her for a class soon.
